There
are scuba lessons...
And then
There is
quality scuba instruction
We specialize
in personalized instruction. Our classes are small, averaging between 3 and 6 students per
class. This guarantees you the personal attention that you deserve and makes for a much
better, more enjoyable learning environment.
Do we add charges
after a student signs up?
No. Our class cost is $277.20. We want
to keep the costs of our course as affordable as possible, and we make sure we are as up
front about all costs as possible. There's nothing worse, for a student, than signing up
and paying for a course, and then finding out that there are numerous other costs required
in order to finish the course. Some shops use this means so that they can advertise
cheaper courses, and then add charges throughout the course. The students often feel
trapped in this situation, and that they have to keep paying or lose everything. We want
all students to know before they begin what the total cost for their course is so that
there are no surprises later.
What certifications
will I learn from the open-water course?
IDEA Open-Water certification know all over the world. This is the
certification you need to get SCUBA gear. It's required to show when getting tanks or tank
fills. Dive operators will ask to see your certification card as proof you are a diver.
The INTERNATIONAL DIVING EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION
IDEA was originally established in 1952
as part of the FSDA - Florida Skin Divers Association (later changed to Florida Scuba
Divers Association). FSDA was and still is a large group of politically active dive clubs.
FSDA has been the voice of the diver since 1952. IDEA is proud of its past affiliation
with FSDA. Instructor training and certification was handled by FSDA Scuba Training
Committee. Many new instructors were from out-of-state or had moved out of the state. The
committee was spreading throughout the continental
In February of
1978, the membership voted to expand the Scuba Training Committee to an international
certification agency, based upon the same principles as the original committee. The
International Diving Educators Association (IDEA) was officially formed.
In 1979 IDEA

IDEA, NASDS, PADI, PDIC, and SSI.
IDEA offers a
complete continuing education program, beginning with skin diver through instructor
Trainer. A variety of specialty courses are also available for both students and
instructors. IDEA is the first certification agency to include Rescue Diver certification
in the Instructor Training Course programs. IDEA is a progressive organization and
recognizes the expertise of other certification agencies and will not discriminate against
any agency dedicated to safe and modern scuba training. IDEA offers affiliated member-
